“I can see only a limited part of the road ahead. And I need to be OK with this and allow myself to discover the rest as I advance”.

This is what several of my coaching clients realize when talking about long term objectives or major career changes.
When planning something for a longer time, we would like to foresee all. To plan all and prepare for as many risks or events as possible.
We work with plans, projects and programs to determine as much as possible the end result. We assess risks and benefits and prepare for them as well as we can.
But one thing we need to normalize as well is accepting that the “unplanned” might happen and that we have a limited visibility.

So, how do we handle this?
📈 Cultivate a growth mindset – view challenges as opportunities for growth and learning
🤝 Build a strong network – surround ourselves with people who can help us advance and find solutions; connect with mentors, peers and professionals in our field to gain insights and support
🚵‍♂️ Prioritize self care – take care of our physical and mental well being to maintain resilience during uncertainty
